Recipients - Interested in Receiving Books
Interested educators, schools, youth-serving community centers, or non-profit organizations may request books. The Youth Literacy Service Initiative is donating books 100% free of charge to all those living in Northeast Ohio. You may request books if your organization works to serve children (ie. Title I schools or Youth Development and Recreation nonprofits/NGOs)
Note that our organization will accommodate your needs to the best of our ability. Some books may be in the wrong category, or will be sorted incorrectly. We review orders on a rolling basis and are usually processed Monday - Friday 4pm - 8pm.
Donors - Interested in Donating Books
Thank you prospective donors. Each year, approx. 320 million books end up in U.S. landfills every year. Because of this, we seek to limit discarded books, unsold returns, and outdated school books to instead repurpose them in areas of limited literacy resources. Through your donation, it can help promote a world where students feel empowered to lead through shared learning.
Your donation with others, in conjunction, will make a difference.
These books will be redistributed 100% free of charge.
If you live in the Cuyahoga County, we can drive to pick up books from you.
We are looking to donate age-appropriate books that will be selected to distribute in classrooms (ie. K-12).
You will need to sort them in advance (kids, teens, and adults)
We will respond within 2-5 business days
